When and how is a digital twin born?
I am wondering at what stage of requirements’ elicitation and definition, practitioners in the various sectors introduce their first interactive software model(s)?  Or maybe it all starts later?
I don’t mean MBSE diagrams but representations of meeting requirements that all stakeholders can understand, interact with and contribute to.
How is it done, what does it look like, what does it do? What tools are used and how is it validated?

How does your organisation (not only in the defence sector) transition projects from requirements into functional wire-frame/ mock-up interactive models?
   What precedes the first model and when is it introduced? Is it paper-based requirements’-capture, mind-maps, fish-bone diagrams, user stories ….?
