To inform design tools (in a fully autonomous scenario) or humans (quasi-virtual state) on design performance based on building performance data, thereby creating a knowledge based feedback loop to the originators of that design.  Eventually this could lead to a positive feedback loop for continuous learning for building design based on perfromance.
