Tiguan DSG feels jerky in stop and go traffic.
Tiguan DSG feels jerky in stop and go traffic. Is this just how they are or does it need a mechatronic service?
My 2016 Tiguan with the 2.0 TSI and the DSG gearbox has been driving me a bit nuts lately in the Sharjah evening traffic. When I’m creeping along at walking speed near Al Nahda the transmission feels like it can’t decide whether to stay in first or second and there’s this subtle shudder and hesitation that makes the whole car lurch if I’m not super gentle with the throttle. On the open road it shifts perfectly fine and I have no complaints, it’s literally just that low speed crawling where it feels confused. I’ve read that these DQ250 wet clutch DSGs need a fluid and filter change every 60,000 kilometers and I’m honestly not sure if the previous owner ever did it because the service history is a bit patchy. A buddy suggested I find a proper Volkswagen Transmission Workshop Sharjah that knows these DSG units well and can do the full service with the correct DSG oil and reset the adaptations before I start worrying about a failing mechatronic unit. Anyone else with a Tiguan or Passat had their DSG serviced locally and did it smooth out the low speed jerkiness or is this just a characteristic of the gearbox that I need to learn to live with?
