Just had pads done on my E class and there’s this weird faint grinding when I reverse first thing in the morning
Dropped my 2019 E300 off at a garage in Al Quoz last Thursday for what I thought would be a simple rear pad replacement and they had it done by the afternoon which was great but now every single morning when I back out of my parking spot in the basement there’s this subtle grinding sound that goes away completely after the first few meters and doesn’t return for the rest of the day no matter how many times I reverse later on. It’s not that metal on metal screech you get when pads are completely toast it’s more like a gentle scuffing noise that I can feel through the pedal just slightly and my wife thinks I’m losing my mind because she can’t even hear it from the passenger seat. The shop said they used OEM spec Textar pads and that everything was torqued to spec and the sensors were coded correctly so I’m trying to figure out if this is just surface rust forming on the rotors overnight from the humidity in the parking garage and it’s rubbing off as soon as I move or if they maybe forgot to put that anti rattle clip back in properly on the rear caliper. I was poking around on my phone trying to see if other W213 owners have this quirk and ended up reading through some info on https:brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/brands/mercedes-brake-pad-replacement where they mention proper bedding and lubrication points and now I’m wondering if they just slapped the pads in dry without any copper grease on the backing plates and that’s causing a bit of vibration when cold. Has anyone else had a similar thing with fresh pads on a Mercedes where it makes a bit of noise for the first few seconds of reversing and then just sorts itself out or should I take it back and ask them to pop the wheels off and double check everything before it drives me completely crazy?
