AC in my Yukon only works on passenger side, driver side blows hot. Fixable or time for a new compressor?
So my 2019 Yukon Denali has decided that my wife deserves cold air but apparently I can just sweat it out. For the last week the passenger side vents are pumping out perfectly chilled air like a freezer while the driver side and the rear overhead vents are just blowing whatever the outside temperature is, which lately feels like opening an oven door. I poked around on some GMC forums and saw a lot of talk about the blend door actuator being the usual suspect since these trucks apparently eat those for breakfast, but I also saw some nightmare threads about the compressor itself being a variable displacement unit that just gets weak over time. I really don’t want to take it to the dealer and pay their diagnostic fee just for them to tell me it needs a whole new system when maybe it’s a hundred dirham actuator and an hour of labor. I’m over in the Al Nahda area and looking for a Reliable GMC AC Service Workshop Sharjah that can actually tell the difference between an actuator failure and a low charge situation without just guessing. Anyone else had this weird half cold half hot situation in their full size GM SUV and got it sorted without selling a kidney?
