Who are you? Ian Blake, Head of Innovation and Technology at the Port of Tyne in the sunny North East of England.
What is your industry and profession? Deep sea port, based in South shields. Operations cover bulk and conventional cargos, logistics (Containers, transport, warehousing), cars, estates, offshore renewables and cruise and ferries.  O&M base for Dogger Bank wind farm.
Where do you plan to use your new Digital Twin Knowledge? Personally/professionally? The port is looking to develop a digital twin for commercial business decision making around land and infrastructure usage.Â
Why have you decided to join the DTHub? To gain access to industry knowledge and expertise to help to identify suitable products and gain a details understanding of the potentials of this type of technology.
Have you participated in any of our meetups, or events? Not yet!
Do you have any examples of work that you have done using Digital Twins?  We have a digital twin system in place, however this is more of a 3d GIS tool holding real time information, rather than a system capable of scenario planning.
