Frank, ‘The Golden Thread’ is used in many industries, it has been in laboratories for years regarding chain of custody of samples. It’s really just quality Information Management. I don’t think it’s correct that it just applies Building Safety, it is relevant to all information where traceability is required and that will be required in Planning too.Â

Jack,
Thanks for this. There is definitely shared learning or opportunities here. I have booked some leave this afternoon and tomorrow. I will get in touch with some colleagues in the relevant departments and see if we can start to gather some collective good practices.

Hi, I am the Asset Data Manager at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, a government social housing provider providing 85,000 homes to the whole of Northern Ireland.
We have a unique situation in that we are developing BIM for the organisation and we have both a fully funded Planning Department and well established GIS system which covers the entire country. Given this is a separate entity of jurisdiction of the UK, I feel there may be a unique opportunity here.
I would very much like to get in touch regarding linking up on some of the items touched on in your video. I can be contacted through this resource or by calling the NIHE Switchboard in Belfast.
Kind regards
Andrew Munn

- Who are you? Hi, I am Andrew Munn. I work as a Asset Data Manager for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in Belfast.
- What is your industry and profession? I work in the Social Housing sector and we provide around 85,000 homes to the whole of Northern Ireland via GOV.
- Where do you plan to use your new Digital Twin Knowledge? Personally/professionally? I need to bring my organisation on this journey, we have 3000 employees, so far it is only me 😞Â
- Why have you decided to join the DTHub? I’ve been following the hubreally since January, my career has been based in the introduction of ISO standards, I have been studying this area in my role as an Asset Data Manager.
- Have you participated in any of our meetups, or events? I have caught up with all the Gemini Calls and try to check in weekly, this is so informative. The format is just fantastic. Having traced to the start it was great to watch grow and you get to feel like you know everyone! Really this is my next ‘reaching out point’ and today I am hoping to get in touch with Local Government Housing Providers within the U.K.?Â
