- Who are you? Founder and CTO of Nominal Systems
- What is your industry and profession? Nominal Systems is offering SaaS digital twin software for complex physical systems. Starting with space, Nominal Systems has focused on creating a modular architecture allowing plug-and-play integration of subsystem models allowing users to easily recreate digital representations of their spacecraft. Given the rise of the Internet of Things, Nominal Systems wants to expand beyond space to be the model behind every complex physical system.
- Where do you plan to use your new Digital Twin Knowledge?  I am really interested to interact with a like minded community, working on complementary applications to share knowhow and experiences that will result in an uplift in digital twin adoption across the board.
- Why have you decided to join the DTHub? Nominal Systems’ application of digital twin technology to complex physical systems, such as spacecraft, deviates from the built environment theme here, however, I have joined the DTHub to cross-pollinate ideas and explore what opportunities may exist.Â
- Have you participated in any of our meetups, or events? Not yet but looking forward to it.Â
-
Do you have any examples of work that you have done using Digital Twins? Nominal Systems is currently working with the UK Ministry of Defence to deliver our technology as a software-based solution to support the complete mission lifecycle of future spacecraft acquisitions from initial design activities, through testing and verification, commissioning and in supporting spacecraft and mission operation as a ‘ground reference solution’ as well as end of life/disposal.https://www.nominalsys.com/blogs/the-uk-ministry-of-defence-procure-nominals-simulation-products

Who are you? Hello, my name is Mei. I am delighted to be here.I work for a social enterprise, Eluceo, set up to help individuals navigate the complex arena of education/lifelong learning into a fulfilling career. We also have a lifelong career road-mapping app, iShine®, that is developed to enable individuals to respond quickly in a rapidly changing careers landscape due to the emergence of new technology, AI and automation.
My role at Eluceo is director. However, from this September I am also working part-time on a digital twin (DT) research project, at King’s College, London.
What is your industry and profession? I am a systems engineer by profession but also have a strong business analysis background, with over 30 years of experience in major companies covering health, government and defence.
I have a degree in Biomedical Electronics and PhD in medical instrumentation.
Eluceo supports individuals from age 16 and beyond on career and skills development, and companies of all industries on upskilling and re-skilling. We have also started to provide technical consultancy.
Where do you plan to use your new Digital Twin Knowledge? Personally/professionally?
I think we are entering a very interesting time for engineering and technology. The advancement in AI, ML, robotics, IoT, VR, AR together with the emergence of new technologies/implementations such as blockchains, metaverse, web3, DT, etc., is changing the way we live and work. For this reason, personally in order to gain some hands-on experience on DT, I have embarked on a part-time research project at King’s College, London. The project is to research and implement DTs to support modelling of hospital systems.
Professionally I would like to stay with research on DT but also to help Small to Medium Size (SME) organisations with implementing their DT solutions.
In addition, I hope with the knowledge gained from the DT project I can convey my experience and understanding of the career opportunities, the skills associated with DTs to individuals, especially to the students that Eluceo works with.
Why have you decided to join the DTHub? I think the Hub is an excellent place to learn about DT and to meet people working in similar area. The Hub has extensive resources and the toolkit provides very clear guidance on how to start the DT journey.
Have you participated in any of our meetups, or events? No, but I would like to be an active member of the Hub.
Do you have any examples of work that you have done using Digital Twins? No, as I am at the beginning stage of the DT research project.
Thank you!

- Do you have any examples of work that you have done using Digital Twins? We are currently developing the Digital Twin of a nuclear microreactor, devised by start-up Naarea, to model and simulate its behaviour, through the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. This Digital Twin will allow us to quickly determine the best design, provide critical elements to validate the conception, then rapidly launch the physical prototype’s construction. In addition, thanks to its knowledge of strictly regulated environments, Assystem will support Naarea in the development of this new technology in compliance with the nuclear regulatory framework.DE

Hello all, my name is Alex Pogmore, I am a PhD researcher at the University of Birmingham co-sponsored by Fulcro.
I am researching BIM, digital twins and innovative technologies full-time, and Fulcro are supporting my studies through their FULmax BIM Cave product line.
My reserach aims to utilise digital twin technology inside the FULmax BIM Cave to create a digital asset management hub, wherein stakeholders across AECO can better manage their assets in a collaborative environment. As part of this, I am developing an IoT platform to integrate sensor data and remote technician feeds to be viewed in the FULmax BIM Cave.
I have decided to join the DTHub to knowledge share and create potential collaboration opportunities with other like-minded digital twin enthusiasts!
I have never attended any meetings or events, but I plan to.
My PhD research builds on my Master’s thesis, whereby I created a digital shadow in Unity, viewable in the FULmax BIM Cave, which took live sensor data and visualised changes to temperature and humidity in the FULmax.
