Gemini Firebox is a new programme from the Digital Twin Hub, designed to fast-track digital twin technologies and rapidly build a market for products and services.
The Gemini Firebox programme held a launch event at Connected Places Catapult in London on 9 December 2024 to bring together over 30 innovators and asset owners to address three key challenges – in this instance, focused on our UK cities and ports.
Justin Anderson, Director of the DT Hub and Team Lead Ryan Goodman opened the meeting with an introduction on the concept of collective innovation and an overview of the Gemini Firebox programme – what it is and how it works. They were followed by Daniel Block who outlined how innovators can work with challenge owners and the DT Hub to develop a Gemini Reference Architecture that will bring their digital twin solutions to life.
Challenge owners Raj Mack from City of Birmingham Council, along with Jay Saggar and Sam Nutt from the London Office of Technology and Innovation, and Timothy van Vugt MSc LLM from DFDS spoke about their distinct industry challenges and how the Gemini Firebox programme is helping them to identify digital twin solutions from innovators in the wider community.
The event concluded with an active workshop session to map innovation priorities and ideas against the Gemini Principles and the Reference Architecture.
