Building knowledge, skills and behaviours for cybersecurity and operational modelling using digital twins
Connected Places Catapult is running a series of free workshops for its Innovate UK Workforce Foresighting Hub project on the Use of digital twins in cybersecurity and operational modelling in transport tunnels.
Cybersecurity risks and transport tunnels
There is risk of attack against any operational technology (OT) or information technology (IT) system within a transport tunnel which may, for example, affect ventilation, fire suppression, CCTV, or the power supply. In addition, legacy vulnerabilities, evolving threats, and infrastructure digitisation may further exacerbate the risks. In tunnel environments, it is vital to integrate human-machine teams to enhance cybersecurity, and allow the strengths of human intuition and machine precision to protect these systems effectively.
Designing the future workforce
This project is part of a cross-Catapult programme to promote innovation such as digital twin technology, as drivers for skills development. It will explore the skills required for data capture, organisational capabilities, value chain capabilities, workforce proficiencies, job profiles and future capability requirements across different transport networks where tunnels are in use.
Workshop series
The workshops will begin on 25 November 2024 with an all-hands onboarding briefing, and continue until 12 March 2025. These short sessions will be suitable for technologists/domain specialists, enterprises, and educators alike. Each session will last between 1.5 and 3 hours.
