I’m looking into community service courses and would like to hear from others who have studied or are considering a career in community services. There seem to be several study options, including Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma-level courses covering areas such as individual support, disability, ageing support, mental health and community services.
For anyone planning to enter this field, how did you decide which course was right for your career goals? Did you choose a course based on a particular area of interest, such as aged care, disability support, mental health or general community services?
I also noticed that some training providers offer additional skill sets alongside full qualifications, which could be useful for developing specific workplace skills.
What factors should students consider when choosing a community services course, such as course content, practical training, career pathways, study options and future opportunities?
