- Who are you? Leo Roubicek, the founder of Acer Resources
- What is your industry and profession? Acer is developing large-scale vertical farms – growing in cleanrooms under LEDs. Our team are domain experts, with years of industry experience in Asia, and this provides the foundation on which we are taking the design of our farms forward.
- Where do you plan to use your new Digital Twin Knowledge? Personally/professionally? Professionally – Digital Twins can play an important role as we develop the designs of our farms, enabling us to model their performance and their economics. In the medium-term, having control of the growing process means that we can use AI/ML to both optimise the operation of the farm and also to look for novel, non-traditional cultivation processes.
- Why have you decided to join the DTHub? We are making good progress developing our core technologies, and getting near the time when we need to start laying the groundwork for our first digital twins. I have little experience in the space and am hoping to learn what’s possible, and how it should be brought into our strategy.
