How would you describe what a digital twin is in less than 20 words?

If you weren't allowed to use the terms "digital" and "twin" how would you describe what a digital twin is (in less than 20 words) to someone not in the know?

That's a tough one to keep so concise, here's my attempt:

A model of a physical thing taking data of its current state and producing an actionable output

I would have to go for:

Virtual representation of a physical asset with a direct connection to its physical counterpart to inform or make decisions.

In the context of the NDT  I'll take a swing at:

"An integration of people, data and technology that creates value for owners of built environment assets, their customers, and society."

Hmmm, I’d go for...

 

a virtual representation of a physical thing which has the capability to capture and process real-time data.
