Ajeeth
I came across an EU funded project "xr4all" which provides a development environment(among other things) for XR projects. The details are here: https://dev.xr4all.eu Will it be possible for the NDT programme to provide similar platform for DT community in the UK? It will help in fostering rapid collaboration and development of the DT ecosystem. Thanks and kind regards, Ajeeth
Kara Cartwright
Have you come across DAFNI: https://dafni.ac.uk/. ? This is what we currently have available and could be used? Data & Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure DAFNI is the National Platform to satisfy the computational needs in support of data analysis; infrastructure research; and strategic thinking for the UK’s long term planning and investment needs. The platform will support academic research that is aiming to provide the UK with a world leading infrastructure system that is more: efficient, reliable, resilient and affordable. It will achieve this by enabling the research community to conduct research that is able to generate new insights at a higher level of detail and accuracy than ever before. Ajeeth
@Kara Cartwright Looking at the website it looks like it is geared towards infrastructure projects. What if someone from EdTech wants to use the platform with heavy bent towards XR(eXtended Reality - AR/VR) technologies as the starting point? Will that be possible on DAFNI? Where should I look at for more information?
Ajeeth
@Kara Cartwright Okay, spoke too soon! I see now how this can help and how it some what matches to https://dev.xr4all.eu But I am still bit unclear on how I will start using it. Because I am trying something different. Usually the DT projects start from the physical entity and then abstract that to a corresponding digital twin. My idea goes in a reverse direction to some extent i.e. it is an abstract model(including visual) that picks and chooses from the physical world as and when required. Thanks and kind regards, Ajeeth If you read carefully the DT promotion documents is all about only the capitalist VC and Ivory Tower academic research supported and NOTHING FOR GENERAL PUBLIC. VIVA BREXIT - NO ANY TECH infrastructure support for SME and innovative communities. Edited July 18, 2021 by Humanner
